Neurological Physiotherapy is a specialised discipline, our physiotherapists have undergone post-graduate training specific to the assessment and treatment of people with neurological damage through disease or injury to the brain and spinal cord. Specialised physiotherapy can help people whether they have been recently diagnosed or have been living with a neurological condition or injury for some time.

The Bobath Concept is the most widely used approach in neuro-rehabilitation for the assessment and treatment of people with damage to the brain or spinal cord. It involves skilled clinical reasoning and problem solving based on an understanding of motor control and neuroplasticity. We use this theoretical knowledge and expert movement analysis to base our treatment approach.

Physiotherapy initial assessment $150
Physiotherapy subsequent treatment sessions $130/hr
Physiotherapy assistant session $70/hr

In general, most treatment sessions last 1hr as this allows enough time to reassess at each session and work on specific goals for that treatment. Some clients require or prefer longer sessions and book for 90 min while others may only come for 30 min. Treatment rates are prorated.

The length of time you need to attend physiotherapy depends on your individual goals and the potential for change. There are many considerations when deciding the number of sessions required per week and include time commitment, activity , tolerance and funding.

We recommend loose fitting clothing so we can properly see and access the parts of your body that need to be treated. Some people wear shorts and T-shirts while others prefer loose sweat pants that can easily be rolled up.

Yes we encourage it! Physiotherapy is a 24 hour process and you will continue the work at home so your family member or caregiver can receive valuable coaching while attending the session.

We often refer our clients to registered massage therapists as the two disciplines complement each other well. Many of our clients have problems with shortened, tight and even painful muscles and massage therapy is a very useful adjunct to our treatment approach.

We offer in clinic massage therapy with Alexander Berger, RMT on Thurs and Fri.

We ask you to fill out our intake form online prior to the assessment, which includes a list of medications. Any medical reports you have is useful to bring as well as any mobility devices you use (walker, braces etc)

While the majority of our treatment takes place in the clinic, we do offer home visits in some situations and this is determined on a case-to-case basis. Factors for us to consider is the location of your home and the time taken to drive there as well as the flexibility in our clinic schedule.

We have gathered many resources over the years and can provide you with information on specialized exercise programs and other healthcare providers such as OTs, orthotists, and SLPs.

Yes. We can co-treat with another physiotherapist as long as we establish and maintain communication with another provider.
